In hockey, in particular, reliable lacing makes all the difference. Players who hit the ice several times a week or don’t want to constantly re-tighten their laces before practice often specifically choose waxed laces. They generally allow for more precise tightening than simple, uncoated laces and maintain the desired tension better. The 274 cm length is particularly well-suited for taller or larger skate models, which require sufficient slack from the forefoot to the upper shaft.

When making your selection, it’s worth taking a quick look at the length you’ve used so far to ensure the lace fits your skates and your preferred lacing style.
